Everyone of Burt’s knife’s begin with his hand-drawn design. From there, he shapes and grinds the blade, heat-treats it himself, fits and finishes the handle, and completes each knife with careful attention to fit, finish, and the fine details. His knives are made to be functional, but the materials, craftsmanship, and care that go into them also make them pieces worth keeping and passing down for generations to come.

Materials vary by knife and are selected to suit each individual design. Burt works with stainless steels, Damasteel, natural woods, bone, G-10, titanium, mokume, and other distinctive handle and accent materials.
Burt fits and finishes each knife by hand, including decorative file-work and modified hardware where used. For fixed blades, he also makes the leather sheath himself, hand-tooling and hand-stitching each one to fit the knife.
